Our firm is currently seeking a Network Engineer within the Columbia, MD area. The Network Engineer's responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
- Maintaining computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware
- Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, and switches.
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer or Math related field with ten (10) years’ experience in the following: Domain Name Server (DNS), Network Time Protocol (NTP) and Intrusion Protection Services (IPS).
- Bachelor’s degree with twelve (12) additional years of experience may be substituted for the Master’s degree.
- Knowledge of core routing and switching design principles, best practices, and related technologies.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
- Must have experience configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security. Knowledge of Palo Alto devices.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) network technologies, and Network automation.
- Detailed understanding of routing technologies (Cisco ACI, Cisco NXOS, Arista EOS, Juniper QFX).
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
- Knowledge of data center network design and implementation.
Security Clearance with an appropriate agency Polygraph is required.
